fashion files - day in the park

what better occasion then a friend's going away / engagement party to get dressed up and feel pretty?!!

it was a picnic in the park of sorts and the weather was stellar for it! last night i wanted to pin curl my hair just for giggles and crossed my fingers that i'd be able to pin it up in some sort of stylish fashion that wasn't too spazmotic. i hope i pulled it off...what do you guys think? this little number i'm wearing is from cotton on circa - i don't even know when! i went accessory free as i tend to be quite minimal in that department of late, but also because the dress and hair kind of say it all.

as it was a hot day the sunnies were essential, as was wearing my hair up! but when i got home i pulled it out and this was the result below. i think with a little shaping and manipulating these pin curls could create quite the 40s do! or was it the 50s? i always get those generational hairstyles mixed up!!

if you're interested in knowing how i went about the pin curling process, let me know and i'll do a post about it and share my favourite tutorials with you.

enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
xx

  2. When I saw the first photo, before I read and saw anything else, my first thought was I love the way you did your hair !!! And the end result of you taking the pins out, was absolutely gorgeous !!! I would love for you to do a tutorial post, so I could attempt it myself, or maybe my curls don't need advancing ... :)
